New metal (aluminum) splitters are now in stock. Note however that Black electroplated (black chrome) with red fill logo is a preorder option due for release the 01/08/16.
If you do not want a splitter you can simply leave the option unselected or you can select "no splitter".
Going with no splitter or the aluminum splitter will be slightly quicker processing for builds versus exotic wood options.
4x21 awg - occ cu litz - 24-wire (8x24awg tri multi-conductor braid structure)
Draug 2 design update:
Now with a trio of proprietary ultra flexible textile cores per overal tri conductor without changing the excellent flexibility or size. We add max dampening while also improving durability and strand uniformity internally with each of the Draug 2 wires. On top of the Draug 2 bringing the highest refinement soncially it also has some of the absolute lowest microphones possible in a cable today, and is one of the most comfortable cables for the given larger equivalent gauge size (equiv. 4x21awg). The Draug 2 is now available in our new Dark Grey / Black, Dark Grey / Red along with our previously available Red / Black.
**Note** Custom lengths over 10 ft. please email NorneAudio@gmail.com. The Draug 2 design is unique as compared to other cables geometry and requires a severe amount of labor
as each conductor is braided by hand. As such the longer the length the more labor and higher price point.
**Note** The Draug 2 is now also available for the new Sony MDR-Z7, the Oppo PM-1/PM-2 and the Sennheiser HD700 with top end Eidolic Headphone Connectors. Also now available
is the PHA-3 / Pono dual 3.5mm (Eidolic) termination in either gold plated or rhodium plated options.
If you have any questions on the Draug v2 itself please email us here.
For those curious of the Draug originals capability, a review and cable comparison can be found here by headmania.org.
Shown below is the new standard all clear Draug 2.

IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard)
The IACS rating is the metric used to describe a metals conductivity as compared to the standard of copper.
First take a look below at pure metals conductivity ratings.
(1) OCC Pure Silver - 107%
(2) OCC Copper - 103%
(3) Copper (common grade) - 100%
(4) Gold - 73%
Silver is the best there is, in pure form, period.
If you take a 1"x 1"x 1" cube of pure silver and compare its conductivity to an identical 1"x 1"x 1" cube of gold, the gold is considered 32-35% less conductive than the pure silver.
An alloy, by definition, is less pure than the original pure metals it is comprised of. Alloys are in existence largely for strength / hardness properties and are not meant for high end audio cables. When you alloy a metal, say gold with silver, you quickly decrease its purity and IACS rating. Even at just 1% gold alloyed with silver the IACS rating drops down well below plumbing grade copper. Alloys in the audio world came about purely as competition increased and there was desperation for new ways to try and market a cable to the uneducated masses.
Norne Audio will always utilize the purest form of a metal and will always use pure silver occ litz, pure copper occ litz, spc occ litz or mixes thereof. Our goal is the design that possesses the absolute top specifications of the highest possible quality.
